Couchboy is the working title for music recorded and released by songwriter David Macdonald.
Originally from Amherst MA, David formed Couchboy in Chapel Hill NC performing as Couchboy, Jasper, and also solo acoustic.
With various bandmates, David played regularly in NC and NYC and has performed throughout the East Coast. After a hiatus, he returned to New England and is currently writing and recording new music at his home studio in Massachusetts.
David writes, sings, plays guitar, bass, and drums.
We think his folky-indie-poppy tunes are really catchy and remind us of early 90s Brit-pop with strong melodies and listener friendly uplifting chords.
