Following a successful inaugural year (2022) for the band that saw the release of three EPs, and an Ontario tour, Kingfisher will be releasing one song and video for each month of 2023. The independent Ottawa based band sincerely appreciates any and all radio play, and has a tour planned for Ontario and Quebec in spring 2023. Blending their 90's rock and punk roots with powerful pop hooks, Kingfisher has something for everyone!!!
The newest focus track is "Praying for More Pain", about facing adversity (in life, art, music), and keeping hope alive; as things worth doing are hard: "I like it. Nice and tight, solid rhythm section, plenty of punk rock "whoaoos." -Alan Cross (The Ongoing History of New Music) Since releasing our first EP in January, our second in April, and third in August of 2022, Kingfisher has so far accumulated more than 51,000 combined organic streams across all platforms on a DIY shoestring marketing budget plus word of mouth. (Kingfisher has never/will never use bots to add streams/plays.)
